An artist in the making

Two weeks ago Lane participated in an Art Camp for a week. He absolutely loved it! At the end of the week they had a little program to show off their work and perform several drama skits for the parents and families. Next year, I will send both of the boys after being so impressed this year.

2-D art- Lane's is the wheel to the left in green, orange, yellow, and blue.

A foldable book he wrote and illustrated about "A Day with My Brother".

His apron they created with paint and stencils.
He has many other pieces in his collection but these are just a few to share.

Love at First Use!

You know you are getting older, or should I say more mature, when the appliance below makes you happy all over again!! I have never owned a food processor in the 12 years we have been married, so this year that is just what I got to celebrate the occassion!! All parts are dishwasher safe and it can just about do anything you can dream of!

This blade makes french fries, so tonight we are having sweet potato fries! This will be used very often I am sure!

Milestone

Today I am walking with 2 feet. I know that sounds silly, but a big accomplishment after 16 days on crutches. I have to wear a funny looking flat bottomed shoes until my pins are removed on Tuesday. I can now drive again, for me that is HUGE! I am so independent and on the go...so here I come again!! No, I am going to take it slow and steady. It is crazy how weak and wobbly I am after just such a short time( relatively speaking).
Life lesson: don't take anything for granted, because even the little things mean so much to you when you can't have or do them!!
