Happy Thanksgiving!!

A little fun project for the kids.....I have bought all the ingredients to make these tomorrow with the 6 cousins. I could not find the orange chiclets, so I bought orange Tic-tacs.
Wishing you a Happy Thanksgiving from our house to yours!! We have so much to be thankful for!! More than we can even comprehend!!

Ingredients:
1 cup vanilla frosting
7 drops yellow food coloring
32 miniature peanut butter cups
1 package (11-1/2 ounces) fudge-striped cookies
32 pieces orange mini Chiclets gum

Directions: In a small shallow bowl, combine frosting and food coloring. Remove paper liners from peanut butter cups. Holding the bottom of a peanut butter cup, dip top of cup in yellow frosting. Position over center hole of a cookie, forming the hatband and crown. Add a buckle of Chiclets gum. Repeat with remaining cups and cookies. Yield: 32 cookies.

Sunday best!!

Sunday morning the boys and I were ready early, so we went out in the backyard at M and D's and took some pictures. We had so much fun!! I treasured this little time with them. They cooperated so well, Lane even told me...
Mommy you are like Miss Annie moving us all around and taking our picture!:) I'll take that as a compliment!! They really like having their pictures taken right now and I know I need to take FULL advantage of that because it will soon change! The boys were really digging their new outfits we got at Belks on Saturday. Lane is very opinionated about what is cool and uncool when it comes to clothes, already....... HELP!!!
They both are growing up so quickly...it seems just suddenly Lane is more mature, lanky and lean, like a big boy!! His thought processes are more complex and deep....making me have to think when answering him!! Think?? Yes!!

" My favorite!"

Love this too!!

Ka-ju-zee Fun!!!

The boys and I came to mom and dad's Friday for a few days while on our break. Last night Grandpa took them to the Kid's Castle playground for an hour or so. After supper Grandma asked the boys if they would like to have a bath in her big tub(jacuzzi).......they were beyond ecstatic!!!!:) They ran around telling everyone they were going to take a ka-ju-zee! When the jets started Grandma was ready with the camera......their expressions were priceless!

Sidenote: I would love to have one myself...that is a jacuzzi.... for those evenings when I am tired and weary!! Maybe someday??!

Thanksgiving Feast

Bryce's class performed about 15 Thanksgiving songs for parents and family on Friday!! So precious to hear about 38 little voices singing their hearts out!! Then they all ate their Thanksgiving feast together in their rooms! They had placemats, pumpkins(see below), and indian corn pins for the moms and dads.
They made adorable pumpkins using toilet paper and a 12x12 piece of fall fabric each mother sent in. Cute simple idea!!

Waiting for the feast to be served!!

Notice the little boy beside Bryce.....he is really into the song!!

New Room

After completion of the Early Childhood building, the elementary building is shuffling around now. That shuffle included me, too. So, as the shuffling has been taking place, they have been replacing our old carpet with tiled floors. All was finished and waxed on Thursday, so I began the move. I haved continued to work on it over the past three days!! AHH!! I have put together 4 tall bookshelves, 2 small bookcases, two computer desks, plus moving all of my things in. My back and some unknown places :0 have been hurting every evening! Last night I even took a hot bath, which is very unusual for me!!!! I still have quite a few things to put up on the wall and a bulletin board to finish during the week next week. Thi kids are going to be sooo excited Monday morning!! That is good and bad, if you know what I mean?!
School was canceled unexpectedly Friday due to an aggressive stomach virus that left 62 children absent from Pre-K to 5th grade. As the day progressed, we were still continuing to send more children home vomiting. We managed to AVOID it here at our house, luckily!!!!!

These tall bookshelves seperate my class from the next. Our school is an open-concept school, only partial walls throughout the entire grade 1-5 building.

This is the "Island", my carpet area where we meet every morning and often other times of the day, too. I love this part of my room!!

The Fifties!!

Monday was the fiftieth day of Kindergarten in Lane's class. So they were to dress in Fifties attire: t-shirts and jeans for the boys, and the girls wore poodle skirts and pony tails. They learned to dance to Fifties music, had a bubble blowing contest, and drank root beer floats. So much fun!!

Happy Birthday, Sweetie!!

My wonderful hubby celebrated his 35th birthday today!! The boys and I made that wonderful apple pie this weekend, so we celebrated alittle early this past weekend!! The pie, by the way, was wonderful!!!:) This evening Jay enjoyed working on his new toy, a 91' Jeep Cherokee, a mudding jeep! He and the boys will make some great memories with this fun jacked-up jeep, and Mommy just may have to go along for some of the fun, too! I'll try to post a picture of this mud buggy once he gets it all put back together!:)
I love the verse in the card I gave Jay! It said, Today may be your birthday, but I feel like I am the one getting a present.......another year I get to spend with you!! I am so lucky!!

Jack O' Lantern

My two little pumpkins and I carved a jack o' lantern this evening. We didn't go trick or treating this years, so we are a little late in doing this. Plus, we don't get any goblins at our door because there is just too much distance between each house out here in the country! This is the first time we have done this with the kids too, so it came with lots of anticipation!!:) We even roasted the pumpkin seeds, but the boys weren't to sure they were good??!! Lane asked that we light a candle and let it glow on the front porch.
Silly!!

Sweet smile!

And the goofiness continued.....

"Oooooohh...it's like string", Lane said "and it is stuck!"

Apple Pie

After baking....it got a little too brown, but still beautiful!! Now to try a piece.... anybody?!

Before baking....

I have been so hungry for apple pie. I have an allergy to raw apples, but as long as they are cooked I can eat them! I made a pie crust from scratch and all the fancy decorative work on top this morning. Baking is like my therapy....it is so rewarding. I got my recipe from Paula Deen's website, all her recipes I've ever tried have been wonderful...so I hope this is true for the pie too!!
