Dog Pound!

UPDATE: Good ending......As of yesterday evening our newest little pooch has a home!! A friend at work contacted her relatives and they came and got her last night! They were so happy and so are we. They named her "Sissy". This kinda thing must stop happening around here!!;-)
Our house, a.k.a. DOG POUND!! In less than two months we have had three puppies come up to our house. This little doll is the latest! She is a beautiful Chihuahua! I plan to put a sign up tomorrow hoping to find her owners, plus I put in a call to a local animal shelter, hoping to find her a home.

Are these cute or what!!!;-)

You can tell just how tiny she really is when compared to big ole' Buster and Jay's hand!

Well Overdue!

I am just now getting time to post pictures of our wonderful Mother's Day weekend with our great friends, Kristen and David and their kiddos. As you can tell from the pictures..the boys like Lia just a tad!!!;-) Kristen is thinking we should just go ahead and plan the wedding. Sounds good, girl! Unfortunately I don't think it will be that simple! We enjoyed the lake and good company! Thanks for coming over! I apologize these pictures are out of order.

Bryce and Lia after Sunday mtg.

Lane and Lia...gazing at one another!

Bryce and Daddy..love this picture!

Just chillin'...Bryce is not a very patient fisherman..he is kinda like his momma.

Isn't she as cute as a button!?

Girl, you got it goin' on!

Jacob's close encounter with the crickets! Cute picture.

More fascination!

Love this picture with fluffy clouds and blue sky. Of course I love the subject in the picture, too! Maybe that is why?!

Run, Lane, Run!!

Friday was the Cougar Mile for all of our elementary students. It is part of the Presidential fitness testing like we all remember...such awful memories! ;-) The exception here being that all of the students work on the mile all year long: pacing, breathing, stretching, etc. Instead of telling you to run the mile the week before (YEAH, RIGHT) and you feel like throwing up and dying as you run the race. I sure wish that it had been this way when I was a kid!;-)
Lane ran the mile in 10 minutes and received a Presidential medal! We are so proud of him. He didn't have to run this year as a kindergartener, but he chose to do it. Way to go, Buddy!!

Lane is third from the right in the line up.
SWEATY AND PROUD OF IT!

As promised...MORE

My flowers from this week! WOW! It has been a wonderful week from cards, casseroles, goodies, a luncheon, gift cards(mine to jcp), gifts, and a surprise cash gift from my class on Friday! There is no better place to teach than my school! Thank you to the parents and their children for making me feel so appreciated!

My "build-a-bouquet" by the end of the week. Everything from roses, day lilies, azaleas, mums, etc.
A gorgeous bouquet I received from one of my students on Friday! I love the woody stem and sticks along with the flowers. It looks so nice on my buffet!

Well, this is my new camera!! I can't wait to start using it! After much reading and talking I decided to go with this rather than the Nikon. I will post pictures as soon as I get it and get familiar with it!

Feeling Special!

This week is Teacher Appreciation Week at school. Boy, have I been made to feel very special!! On Monday the students brought flowers cut from their yards and I am still getting more every day! It is huge(I'll try to remember to take a picture tomorrow)! Tuesday the students wrote letters to me.....WOW!....Some made me laugh and others brought tears! Plus each teacher went home with a homemade casserole for supper. We enjoyed Crawfish/Rice Casserole....talk about spoiled..I came home put it in the oven and made a salad to go along! It was really yummy. One of my precious little girls brought me a purple/white orchid corsage to wear today! I felt very special!! They had a teacher's luncheon also and I even won the flower arrangement, too! Tomorrow is more giveaways: Visa cards.. and Friday: A surprise gift for the teachers! Wow! What a week....I love where I teach...it is truly heaven on earth for someone who loves to teach children!! I am so happy!

Your two cents...

UPDATED:
I purchased the Canon Sx110 IS in silver after much research and advice! I can't wait to receive it!!
PLEASE!! I am trying to decide which new camera I want to purchase. I know a lot of you have really nice cameras and take a lot more photos than I do. So, which one would you recommend and why?? Right now I am leaning towards the Canon for several reasons: the many reviews I have read, two close friends who own Canons and are very happy, plus the input from a professional photographer. But...I am still hesitant?? It is a big purchase and I want to make the right one! Tell me what you think. We are heading to Hot Springs in 2 weeks with some of our close friends and I'd like to be carrying a new camera!

Nikon Coolpix L100 -15x optical zoom and 10 mega pixels
Canon PowerShot SX110IS- 9.0 mega pixels and 10x optical zoom

Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day! Thank you Mom for teaching by example and always showing Jeremy and I unconditional love!! I won't trade my role as mom to my two darling boys for anything! I hope your day was special in every way. My day was wonderful! A yummy lunch, special friends and family, a nap on a rainy afternoon, and just pure relaxing with my family.
This little flower pot was Lane's gift he made at school. Thursday they had a darling performance acting out three of Eric Carle's books and then several songs about mom and dad. Unfortunately my camera would not zoom in to get Lane in his role as the sun, moon, and whale in "The Very Grouchy Ladybug". I think I am going to get a new camera this summer that has a better zoom.

Job Description: MOM

Today I went to Dessert with Mom in Bryce's preschool classroom. They had yummy punch, cupcakes, and cookies. Bryce made a hand print tile for me. I now have a set because Lane made one last year! Someday I'd like to incorporate them in my back splash in the kitchen or bath! Below you will see the portrait of me Bryce painted, pretty but do I always look that green?? Look closely at his interview!! Son, I love you for thinking I am so young!! Rollerskating??? I haven't done that since middle school!;-) Someday I will look back at this picture and laugh, and probably cry! Precious moments and memories!!

My mom is 24 years old.
My mom cooks the best macaroni and cheese,
My mom goes to school when I am at school.
I love my mom because she goes rollerskating with me.
My mom loves me.

Pretty table spread..the cupcakes were scrumptious!

Proud of his artwork for MOM!

First fruits of hard labour

We have two gardens this year and we have already been enjoying our lettuce for a week or two now. Tonight Jay went out and dug some of the new potatoes. There are a lot more, but we can only eat them so fast. We have Russet potatoes, too, that are not quite ready. In addition, we have sweet peas, cilantro, parsley, tomatoes, zucchini, yellow squash, and a field of corn(10 rows). I can't wait to enjoy some new potatoes and peas like my mom and grandmother used to fix! Come on over and we'll fix you a mess! Nothing taste better than something you have grown in your own backyard!
