A Big Surprise

My wonderful husband is not a planner, he likes to do things on second notice. So what he said to me last night was quite surprising. We had made plans to spend the afternoon and evening on Saturday having our "date" night. His sister offered to keep the kids overnight and bring them to meeting here on Sunday. All was well and planned. As we ate supper, he informed me that he was going to have to make a delivery to mid-state Arkansas Saturday and we probably couldn't do what we had planned. This has happened several times in the past year or two, so naturally I was dissapointed and said why do we even plan this kind of thing anyway. In his next breath he said, I talked to Dad and he'll open for meeting and we'll go on up to Hot Springs after making the delivery and spend the night!! He had the most adorable grin on his face and I felt like such a fool, when here he had planned something even better!!:) What a Wonderful Surprise, the first one like this in almost 10 years!! Even better, this is a great way to celebrate my b-day just a little early. Now I just have to get my house cleaned and ready for meeting by Saturday a.m.. Live is always filled with surprises, I always thought those came from my kiddos!! Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Questions about God?

Bryce has been asking a lot of questions about God and what he does. Last night in the middle of the night he called me to his room and asked, " Mom, why does God make it rain?". I quietly told him that God made it rain because the trees and plants needed a drink just like us. He quickly responded with this question, "They get thirsty too, Mommy?". Yes, I told him. He quietly laid back down, I guess he was satisfied with the answer.
A few months ago, I woke him up early on a school morning, he was not happy at all. He said it wasn't time to get up because the sun was not awake yet. You have to understand that his way of knowing when to get up is determined by the sun and when it shines in his window. Once I got him dressed and downstairs, he cried out and said " I want to talk to God!!". I asked him why he wanted to do that. He said, "God will understand me and fix it!". So precious to hear their deep thoughts and understand that God is powerful and understanding. I guess that is why Jesus said " Except you become as a little child, you can not enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.". They sure have been good lessons for Jay and I.

Cajun Cuisine!!

As Jeremy and Lisa's time here in Louisiana comes to an end soon, we decided to treat them to a Louisiana favorite, boiled crawfish, last night at a local restaurant. Lisa didn't care to try the little creatures, but Jeremy brushed up on his peel and eat techniques to enjoy a few lbs. with Jay. They are so special!! Yum!:) In fact, will we were eating they ran out of boiled crawfish, making a few people kind of mad!!! With all the rain we have had the crawfish crop this year is down.
Bon Apetit'!!(sp)

Boys Boys Boys

Uncle Jeremy spent most of the day outside with the boys yesterday. They played ball, throw the frisbee, took the golf cart for a spin, ran the JD gator down to the creek and took trailer rides behind the tractor. I didn't get a lot of pictures of them, but I love this one of them riding in the trailer. I think Uncle Jeremy had just as much fun being a kid again himself!!:) The boys are missing him today since they left this morning to head north to Arkansas. This is the last day of our Winter Break- we have been out of school since last Thursday at noon. Tomorrow it is back to reality!:(

More fun with Grant..

Watch me go.....

Mommy and Daddy better look out. Grant is standing and moving around things. He was so proud of himself and even tried to push it across the room. He is rolling all over the place, but he is sure getting the walking down. He is just too small, only 8 months old. Lisa and I couldn't believe what he was doing!!:)
He was just squelling with glee at his accomplishment...oh, so Proud!!!!:) I loved watching him all weekend. Mr. Brown Eyes
Laughing with silly Uncle Jay
Grant loves books and Lane loved reading them too him, giving them his own little twist. So sweet to see them interacting.

Family All Together

We are enjoying our time with Jeremy, Lisa and Grant as they pass through on their way to north Arkansas. Mom and Dad came over for a quick weekend, too. It was nice to be together, that doesn't happen much these days since we are all spread out!! Jeremy and Lisa will be with us until Tuesday. I'll post more pictures of our time together later this week.Family picture after meeting

Sunday evening fun

This evening the weather was splendid!! The boys and I picked up limbs and twigs that have fallen recently with all the strong wind we have been having. We had the wheel barrow piled high with sticks. The boys asked if we could have a fire and roast weiners and marshmallows. I ran to the store to get marshmallows and hot dogs while they built the fire and got it warm.
The boys helping daddy build the fire.
The boys sat close by holding the pan of weinees and the package.

Handsome little boys

Our sweet little gentlemen before meeting this morning!! They are growing so quickly and becoming such little men. Time is passing way to fast. I treasure these sweet moments dearly!!:)

Mardi Gras Parade

Lane's preschool class had their annual Mardi Gras parade on Friday!! The children could decorate a wagon or bicycle to ride in. The entire student body and faculty came out to catch beads and candy. The boys had great fun throwing everything. Bryce enjoyed visiting Lane's room before the parade started.

Waiting for the parade to start, mommy even wore a mask.

Fun with old friends

Last weekend we spent time with David and Kristen and Brad and Lesha. So fun to get together with old friends. Our kiddos enjoyed one another while we caught up on 10 years of news. We enjoyed shopping at Canton, a well known flea market. I can't believe I came home with nothing. They boys got wooden pop guns and visited dog town where they picked out their favorite puppy!!
The boys playing with Jacob.

Lane's masterpiece.... he would work so hard and get right to the last and it would fall!! So mom and Brad C. helped him finish!:)
