Riding on two wheels!!!

This weekend Lane learned how to ride his bike without training wheels. We tried earlier this summer and he just wasn't ready. Thanks Grandpa for taking them off and helping me get started!!:) Sunday evening Jay ran along side of him and then let him go......away he went! He has been on his own ever since. I have a better video, but blogger was having trouble loading it. Lane loves watching the video of himself....he is so Proud..he just can't help but GRIN really BIG!!! Today we bought a new helmet, knee pads and gloves for the those falls we all know will happen as he masters it!!

Weekend with Grandma and Grandpa

My parents came over for the weekend to celebrate Lane's B-day a little late. Lane loved all his gifts from G and G. He can point to and name all the states where our families live in on his new globe. We enjoyed eating supper outside on the screen porch last night and Grandpa played baseball with the boys as we visited. Grandpa took off Lane's training wheels and ran along side him as he was learning. We will have to take some video as he is perfecting his riding. A great weekend, but just too short!!

Coloring together.

Singing and cake again!!:)

This evening Jay pitched a few balls to Lane....I think he could hit them over 2nd base if he played!!

Little Rock Weekend

Labor Day weekend we headed to Little Rock. We spent the day at the local water park, which the boys absolutely loved. Lane the daredevil he is went on the Black Hole, which is a water slide in complete darkness riding on your back!! He loved it!!:) He definitely doesn't take after his mother!! Ha Ha!! The weather was cooler and lovely in the evening!
Sunday we ventured to the pedestrian bridge over the river just a few blocks from the campgrounds. What a beautiful view from the top!! This area is just the begging of the Ozarks...rolling hills and tres. We only went about halfway acrossed, but stopped to watch fishermen and boaters below, the bikers that passed us. The current at the dam is just awesome and yet scary!

Some of the unbelievable homes that rambled all over the hillside along the river.

A beautiful site of the distant hills in the haze!!

Teddy Bear Picnic

Friday, I joined Bryce for their teddy bear picnic. All week they had to bring a bear and everything they did was centered around bears. We had a picninc lunch outside under dark clouds...luckily the rain held off. I love this first picture...his darling little grin!!:)

Look at those LONG legs!! Where did they come from suddenly?? I don't know why he has such a forlorn look on his face. His teacher took this picture for us, it seems that not too often do I take a picture with the boys. I'm usually the one behind the camera!!

All Grown Up.....

Today was the first day of preschool for Bryce. He wasn't really cooperative for this picture, but it still is cute!! At 7:00 a.m. I don't know that I would be very smiley either...what was I thinking! ;) What happened to my little boys???
Bryce has already made his mark in his class(I am not surprised;))......his teacher came to me with this funny little situation. They were finger painting today and she asked Bryce to use his "painting finger". He looked down at his hand puzzled and said" My mom told me not to get myself dirty!". She told him that they would wash his hands when they were finished and that mom would think that it was o.k.. He looked at her and said again, " My mom doesn't want me to get dirty, I think it would just be better if you got me a paintbrush!!" So, he painted his picture with a paint brush instead. Getting his way already!!!:)
While in the bath tub tonight I asked Bryce if he was tired. He responded with this explanation, " It(being tired) is just getting too hard to fight, I can't keep squeezing it out!". I have felt this way before, but he explained it so simply!!:) I love his silly humor and explanations!!:) Tomorrow is the teddy bear picnic.....look for pictures in the next few days.

Playing in the rain...

.......before Gustav. Yesterday evening we enjoyed sitting on the front porch watching the first bands of rain and wind. The boys played under the drips from the roof and pretended to fish with the fern leaves. The worst luckly didn't happen as forecasted.:) We have gotten a good bit of rain, with lots more to come. The power flashed several time during the night...but never completely went out. The winds at times during the night were about 40- 50 mph or so. Still made us a little nervous with all the trees around. There are quite a few trees down around our town, but so glad that things are not worse!!!
