Fun in the Park

Last evening the boys and I went to Dinner and a Movie in the park. Let me tell you it was a child's dream world!! Face painting, tattoos, hair painting, games, free treats & stuff, karate booth( they could kick and break a board), and fun performances by many different groups, picture with a pig, hot dogs and hamburgers, etc.. Then at dusk they began the movie "Babe". We sat on our blankets in the amphitheater area......what fun! I was exhausted by 8:30 after spending 4 hours there and the boys were too, so we left and came home. Plus our allergies were eating us up!! The pollen is so bad here it is like the beginning of a snow storm when it blow across the rood in wisps, except it is GREEN pollen!! AGGHH!!

I loved their hair! They got looks of smiles and compliments!!

Spoon race

Beach ball and paddle fun!

Baseball.......Lane made two home runs!!

Stick Pony Rodeo!

This week Bryce's class had a stick horse rodeo. Here he is with his teacher, Ms. Dance. Aren't they cute, cowboy and cowgirl!! The teacher makes every child's horse, allowing the children to pick a few things out for their horse. Lots and Lots of work!!!;-) Now both of the boys have a horse....I need to take their pictures together! I didn't get to see the rodeo, but they said they were just racing around like speedy horses!
Peeking out from under his hat!

Friends!

Last Saturday Lane and Bryce spent the night at frined's houses for the first time EVER!!! Lane came back home with his friend Saturday morning. I took Lane and his friend, Dylan, to Jungle Gym. They boys spent about 2 hours there and were exhausted. We stopped and had ice cream at Maggie Moo's before coming home. What a fun, but exhausting weekend! Sunday it was off to special mtg. again.

Attempting Rock Candy!

UPDATE: Well we have rock candy, but it fills up the entire jar and not the string?! Bummer! I will do some more research and see if I can perfect this technique. It did taste pretty good!! Keep you posted!!

My sister-n-law posted a rock candy recipe on the recipe blog. I have been so anxious to try it, so here is my attempt........ so far little crystals are forming. YEAH!! I thought this would be fun for the boys and their friends to watch and eat!!;-) I'll post final pictures if they turn out?!

And then there were two......

........it just so happened that the boys are both spending the night with two different friends tonight. This will be the first time for them both to spend the night away from home(not G and G, Nana and Paw paw, or Aunt Dana). I think I am more worried than they are!!;-) Lane will only be a mile or so away and Bryce just about 15 minutes. So if we have to make a last minute pick up, it won't be that far. They are both having a ball tonight bowling and romping at the Jungle Gym.
So I wasn't quite sure what to do with myself as I left school......no tag-a-longs, backpacks to lug, whining, or giggles in the backseat. So of course it was on to Wal-Mart for groceries....why is it we can't every go a week without Wal-Mart??

Now for the better part: Jay and I met and ate at a yummy restaurant for supper! As we left he said what are the plans for the evening?........go home clean up the kitchen and go to bed???? I giggled.....I don't know..we don't get to do this very often so we are just enjoying some quiet time by the fire. Tomorrow Lane and his friend will come back to our house for some fun here. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!

The next Boy Band!!

As I cleaned up the kitchen this evening Bryce desperately wanted to "play the drums", as he calls it with the pots and pans. I consented knowing full well that the din was going to be outrageous and there would be a mess left in the cabinet.....oh well your only a kid once;-).....and that kept them occupied while I cleaned up!;-) Lane, of course, joined in and helped out. Believe it or not.....they actually had quite a little rhythm and beat goin' on. I caught them for just a moment on camera.

Do you think they could be the next boy band? Maybe they need to learn some words to go along? I loved the "steamer" as the cymbals! Could we call them the "Pot Hand Brothers".

YIPPEE!!

I got this fun book from my great friend, Laura, for my birthday!!! A total surprise!! I love those kinds of things! The boys and I had so much fun going through the book and figuring out which one they are going to have for their birthday! If you haven't bought a copy....I highly suggest it. You use normal ingredients, fun candy, and they teach you how to do all the fun tricks!! The coolest thing....all the frosting is applied with either a knife or Ziploc bag cut in different ways! So nifty and easy!;-)

Well remembered!

What a wonderful birthday I had this year! I was remembered by so many friends and my family! I feel very lucky.....even if it is 33 years!
I received this beautiful basket at school from a group of mothers who want to remain unknown, but love to spoil us on our b-day's. WOW!! I could hardly believe it....a potted orchid, 10 snickers bars(my favorite), a Circle E candle, a $25 gift card to Wal-Mart, and a wonderful note of appreciate and admiration! I couldn't have asked for a better day...my students wrote me darling cards, notes, and letters wishing a happy b-day and telling me how much they love me! Makes my heart go pitter patter(not as much as my own boys though;)).
Tonight, Jay took me out for my b-day with the boys(a day late because he had to go out of town last night). We had a nice time and enjoyed the evening!

The basket was wrapped so nifty....I didn't want to unwrap it!

The beautiful orchid!

33 Candles!!

Yes!!....that time has come around again!! I sure don't feel like I am thirty-three..I am still young at heart! I guess it isn't the number, but how you feel inside! ;-) According to the True Age test on Facebook, I am only 22 years old! GRIN!!
Thank you for all of your wishes on Facebook already this morning! Your are so sweet to remember me. Wish you all could come over and have cake!
