Fun weekend!

We had a busy, but fun weekend. From birthday parties to fun little projects, the weekend is already over....where does it go so fast?
Do these look familiar to anyone?? Probably......... if the picture weren't sideways!(Sorry!) I remember making Shrinky Dinks as a kid and today I found them at Books-A-Million. We made a few before bedtime tonight! Fun for both of the boys to watch as they shrunk in the oven!!

A rocket and robot dog.

The boys each planted some watermelon seeds, once they sprout we will plant them in the big garden. They look at them several times a day and wonder why they haven't grown yet?!;-) Hurry up!

I took the boys to a birthday party for a friend of Lane's on Saturday and then we ran a few errands in the big city! It was fun to watch the boys enjoy Excalibur, a place like Chuck E. Cheese, but in addition they also have batting cages, 2 go-cart race tracks, laser bumper cars, putt-putt golf, and laser tag, too!! A really fun place for a b-day party!

Race to the finish!

Final stages!

Almost there!!

The bathroom is almost complete. What a long process...but it is almost finished! Jay just lacks putting in the baseboard, new hardware for the shower, and the door. We have spec. mtg. workers one week from Tuesday so it will be finished this week. I love, love , love how it has turned out!! I am going to keep my eye open for decorating items to give it the final touches. Now it makes our master bath look bad...so it is the next project. Jay has put in may long hours of labour, sour knees, and mental anguish over the tile and shower door. Thank you, dear!! Come on over and stay sometime, we'd love for you to use it!

Mardi Gras Parade

Another fun day with my boys. The preschool had their annual Mardi Gras parade. It is quite a big ordeal everything from the floats(decorated wagons and bikes), to the beads, candy , etc. that the kids and parents throw. The entire school K-12 lines the driveway and sidewalks to catch beads, candy, etc.. So fun, but a little overwhelming for a four year old!:-) Bryce rode along last year with Lane, but he was still a little shy with the older kids. He didn't have any trouble throwing candy and beads to mom's students or Lane and his friends. It was a chilly morning, but the sun was shining and we had a great time! The Krewe of Bryce was too cute!!

My little King! He made his mask with the help of the high school helpers in their room, pretty good job I thought!

All finished and taking off the layers.

Puppy Love

Today being the 101st day of Kindergarten, all the students in K dressed as the 101 Dalmations!! I think my puppy is by far the cutest one, but I'm very partial. This is a day that not only K looks forward to, but the whole elementary too. They watched 101 Dalmations , the movie, and ate popcorn and drank soda. Such a fun memory!

Cutie!

Yummy in your tummy!

Just got these today for the boys and they are ohhh soo yummy! There are 6 in a pack and they are just a few ounces, a perfect snack. They have both requested them along with their sandwiches in their lunch for tomorrow. Check them out at your local grocery store!! A "HIT" here in our house!!

Things have gone to the birds!

The boys heard this on Sirius radio today. I found it on YouTube and they listened while they were bathing! They are beyond silly tonight......things have gone to the birds(ducks) here! With Daddy not home there isn't that firm hand to corral their energy! We have had a great day on a winter break..making cookies, shopping, coloring spots on a white sweatsuit(see note below),and painting in the rain.

Back to school tomorrow....it is the 100th day of school for Lane. Thursday is the 101st and each child is to come dressed as one of the 101 Dalmatians! We had a lot of fun making his costume today, both boys helped. I'll post pictures on Thursday.

Mozart in the Making!

Lane has been learning a few songs on the piano with the help of his daddy and I. He loves to come upstairs and play, play, play! While Grandma was here this week she taught him another, "Go Tell Aunt Rhody", one both my brother and I learned as kids too. He will start piano lessons this summer with the teacher at our school. Then during the school year, he will have piano once a week during an extra-curricular class, i.e., PE, Art, Spanish, etc. He can hardly wait to start lessons!! Of course as the proud parent I think he just might be the next Mozart!;-) Maybe not?......but I do think he is doing really well!!

A special treat!

Friday night Mom babysat the boys while Jay and I went out for the evening! We don't get to do that very often and we already had a willing babysitter. While we were gone the boys and Grandma made darling rice cripsy treats(daddy's favorite), using the heart shaped cookie cutters, played in the InstaSnow, and Grandma even taught Lane a new song on the piano. Lane even asked Grandma to wrap up two rice crispies just for Jay and I in a cute V-day bag! On Saturday morning the boys could hardly wait for us to eat their treats! So precious! We really enjoyed having mom here and I know the boys are going to miss her! Thanks for everything Mom, come again soon!

BEWARE!!

Bryce found this in the shed while Jay and I were working on the garden this afternoon. Jay noticed and said quick get the camera! This fits him so well!! If you have been around him you know what we mean! And yet we love him to bits........like always this and most everything he does makes us laugh!

Happy Valentine's Day!!

This is the precious letter Lane mailed to us on his field trip to the post office on Tuesday! These little letters and notes I treasure and keep to add to their keepsake boxes.

Happy Valentine's Day!!

May your day be filled with sweet memories!

Lots of love to the three men in my house, they are everything to me! I love my life as mom and wife!

These are the tulips I received from one of my students. They look so pretty on the kitchen table!

Grandparent's Day Program

Yesterday the boys performed in their annual Grandparent's Day program. The theme was the 60's, so I (reverse)tye died their shirts and the boys had fun watching me. Mom came on Wednesday and is staying with us through the weekend. The boys had a great time with Grandma yesterday afternoon while I had an in-service in the afternoon. I'm so glad they can make fun memories like that. Grandpa would be here, too, but he is away on a business trip in Ohio right now! We hate that he missed it! Maybe next year. ;-)

Gettin' there....

slowly but surely! What a transformation it has already made, but there is still a little more to go.......but that will have to wait. Jay has been fighting what he thought was just a cold for several weeks, when Friday he just felt a lot worse. After a visit to the Dr. and chest x-rays he was diagnosed with pneumonia. He doesn't feel that awful or sick, but extremely tired and croupy! Hopefully he will recover soon and we can wrap up the bathroom before special mtg. rounds the first week of March.
