Tonight on my way home from a colleague's clothing show, I killed my first deer. Not with a bow or gun, but with my car. I am o.k., and the car seems to be too. I am going to have the alignment checked and be sure nothing under the hood is damaged. It still runs fine, but won't hurt to check. It sure was scary at the time:(. I'm glad the kids weren't with me either, more explaining that we don't want to have to do, at least not now.
Jay's been hard at work on making our retaining walls for the front flower beds this weekend. While the boys enjoyed helping dig as daddy put the pavestone bricks in. I'll try to post pictures later as we get a little more done. Have a great week!!:)

What do boys do BEST?
What do boys do best? Play hard and get DIRTY!!:) The boys have been outside all day long, enjoying the beautiful fall weather. We opened the windows this morning and let in the fresh air. I love this time of year!! The fishing is always better from the water trough. I guess you might catch a cow?;)
The boys where filling up every part of the jeep with dirt. Lane has found a grubb(sp?), he thought it was the coolest worm. He now knows it is a grubb. Did you notice he is wearing a jacket. It is not that cool, but such a change he thought it was a good idea to wear one. Laugh!!
The end result of all their work. I asked them what they were going to do with it? Bryce said,
" fertilize the grass", they did just that after they dumped it out. They ought to sleep well tonight after all this play!

Teddy Bear Picnic
Lane is all smiles with his bear. He named the bear, Sunny. It is so special to be able to enjoy these moments with him. I can't tell you how much it will mean when Bryce comes next year!:)
This is Lane's friend, Jacob. He and Lane got to know one another this summer while his aunt and I started working on Second grade material.
Lane and his friends eating their lunch. It was beginning to sprinkle, they had to finish their picnic inside.( He is center in the back with green shirt and brown bear in his lap.)
These children are all teacher's kids or relatives. They all come to our rooms each afternoon. Today Brody was reading one of his library books. Jacob, Lane's friend is the little boy in the forefront. He is Monnisa's nephew( She is my 2nd grade co-worker)and they played together this summer while we worked.

Labor Day with Grandma and Grandpa
The boys and I spent the long weekend with G and G. Grandma and Grandpa treated the boys to pizza and games for a belated birthday for Lane this past weekend, after swimming that morning. Peter Pipers is kind of like Chucky Cheese's, but not quite so crazy. The boys couldn't figure out what to do first with so many games and activities. I have to say I enjoyed some of the games myself and helped the boys earn some more tickets. Below you will see some of the things they enjoyed. After spending $10.00 on coins we traded our 156 tickets for sour straws, funny teeth, etc. Bryce told us on the way home that "this was such a FUN day!!! " Satisfying to know they enjoyed it.:) Thanks Gand G!!

Lane's First Day of School
This is Lane's first day of preschool at the private school were I am teaching this year. He had a fabulous day, and even got to be the "leader" on the first day of school. During naptime he got to sleep in the circus tent, being he was the leader!! He was all SMILES;)> Lane in his school uniform. He looks so grown up.
